    Hi

Firstly, many thanks in advance for any advice offered as a completely new member of this community. So to my problem…

I moved into a new build in (wet) Manchester in November. The garden hasn’t been turfed but the drainage appears to be poor and neighbours who turfed their gardens earlier have commented on very boggy gardens.

From the photos just wondering if anyone can recommend a solution? Does it look something that can be fixed by digging in organic matter and perhaps replacing 100-200MM of clay with a decent layer of top soil? Or is some proper drainage needed?

I am pressing the developer to fix but they are notorious for refusing to accept any liability for fixing garden drainage issues unless its a really big problem as there are no building regs to adhere to.

I'm happy to share photos via email or can send a link to a shared OneDrive folder via private message (I hope). Cant post a link here at the moment until I get some likes it seems!

    Thanks

    Dom

Oh :yikes:, !!! You do have a problem.
Do you eventually want it to be a lawn area?
If so you might get a better response starting a new thread here....Lawns

Yes am looking to lay turf and don't really want to go down the artificial route (which is what a lot of landscapers recommend as the least risk and low cost fix). Will post to the other area. Thanks

:dbgrtmb: Great you'll get more help there that's for sure. I leave the lawn areas to my hubs so can't be of use to you I'm afraid.

Good luck and keep posting pics on your progress....we all love to see a new garden in various stages of it's creation!!
