Hi, Is anyone familiar with edemame growing?
I've read that they need a long growing season and will develop pods obviously after they have flowered. Mine have a couple of very small pods on now but haven't flowered yet! I'm not sure what to expect really. I've just planted a second lot and want to learn from the first batch! Any advice please. Jo

Never grown them but have bought frozen ones.
To be honest I thought they were just a green seeded form of broad bean, but obviously not.

You must have had flowers to get pods.

      Hi Pete
I admire your honesty!! Yes, the flowers must have been and gone! They have what appear to be buds which I thought would flower but maybe they don't. I'll just wait and see what happens.

Well I had to look it up, even though I had bought the things in the past.

Apparently soya beans, of a type.
Aren't they mostly grown in warmer countries.

Exactly that Pete. Yes soya beans and yes mainly Asian countries though apparently they can do well here if the weather is warmer. Mine have progressed nicely though I'm thinking I may have sown them too early. All trial and error this year!

How do you mean, too early, most times plants that need longer warmer growing conditions need planting early.
