    Hi guys,
My elderflower is now large enough to pick the flowers for making cordial. However, I'd like some advice please on the storing of the flowers. I have 4 flowers ready to be picked with about 20 or so forming the flowers. I'm intending to store the ripe ones in a paper back and store them in my larder which is cool and dark. Is this the best idea?

Hi Gwen. I have never stored the flowers in a larder - they will very quickly die there, I fear.

Most recipes call for 20 heads of flowers, so it sounds like you have enough coming. If you need to pick over a couple of days, I would put the flowerheads in the freezer until you have enough...
