Evergreen ruined my Decking

I need some advice. I recently had some new decking in the garden and I've stained it with Cuprinol Ultra Tough Decking Stain. On Wednesday this week I covered the lawn with Evergreen weed and feed water solution. I walked across the lawn after and onto the decking. This morning I've noticed that the decking is a dull black in the shape of my footprints where I went onto the deck. What has the Evergreen done to my decking!? I’m gutted that I've now ruined my lovely decking by walking across it with some chemical off the Evergreen weed and feed HELP please.

 

It was raining this morning when I noticed the marks, I went out with a decking brush and had a go at one of the large footprints...it didn't seem to brush off at all! But then again Im not sure I tried hard enough or long enough. I'll go back tonight and have another good go. I was nearly in tears :( I really hope Ive not ruined my new £3k decking !!!

We were sorry to hear of the problems experienced with staining of your decking. The product contains iron to control moss and to strengthen the grass growth. It is the iron that has turned into rust that can cause staining.

There are products available to remove rust stains. Take a look at the H G Stain Away range of products, number 7 is the one for removing rust. The product is available in Homebase and iron mongers such as Robert Dyas. It can also be bought on line from [link removed by admin]

So sad you guys that posted back are suspicious. The problem is real I got a reply straightaway from the manufacture and shared it with you. Now I've not action-ed the clean-up yet on my decking and I was going to post pictures of how it went BUT after the responses I got I'll not bother. I came here for advice, I ended up probably helping others who read the thread.

So please can the Administrator remove my account as there's no love on this forum ha ha ha. Elvis made a song once about Suspicious Eyes LOL......"We cant go on together....."
