Sorry for being a bit slow with these but better late than never

    Did anyone notice

That if you 'mouse over' the title of a thread in the topics list, it will display the first dozen or so words of the post?

That if you copy the direct link from PB you can use the [IMG] icon to embed the image in your post?

That if you want to quote more than one post, you can click on the multi-quote icon [IMG] in each post which will then go orange. Then at the bottom of the thread, click on the [IMG] button and all the posts you selected will be in the new post ready for your comments!

That if you want to make a tidy link to another website (for instance) the copy the url from the address bar up top, select the word or words you want to change into a link (so they are all highlighted in blue), then click on the 'Insert Link' icon [IMG] in the top panel of the message box, paste the url into the box that pops up and your link will be embedded on a word. Like this.

Daisees, thanks for your efforts. I'm with pete. Sorry. I tried to use the pb advice with the 'mountains' icon, but it didn't work for me. Only the old way for pics but now they are all too large even when i try to reduce them in pb,

I know it must be annoying & frustrating for you mods but we're not trying to be awkward just not as clever as you with pc's etc. It is frustrating for us too, once things worked now they don't. I'm sure though there are alot of members finding it better.

Now i've crawled to you, lol, can you try & help with the photos? I know it's like this with every new system, i was used to it at one time! Getting new in-house systems at work & finding out the good & bad of them.

    cheers

Which link are you copying from Photobucket?

Has to be the one labelled "Direct Link"

and when the little yellow flash saying 'copied' shows up the you go to your post and click on the mountain icon [IMG] and you get this pop-up to paste the link into

click 'OK' and the image will magically appear in your post.

To embed a url onto a word, first get the url from the address bar at the top.

As for selecting the text, what I meant was that you 'mouse sweep' the word you want to make into a link whilst holding down the left mouse button. This makes the word highlighted in blue like this

    Then click on the
[IMG] icon which gives you a pop-up like this for you to paste the url in

and the word turns into a link so when you put the cursor over it, the cursor turns into a little hand with a pointing finger.

    Hope this explains it better.

Like they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"!!
