    Hi,

I've recently potted a Wisteria into a large container. I was unsure where to get this to grow so decided on trying to train it into a tree. It's now been 2 months and it has hardly grown at all. I've cut off a few side shoots to allow it to continue growing a longer trunk. Is this what's stunted the growth?

What are the recommended types of fertilizer for a potted wisteria?

If you have only potted it on I would suggest virtually no feeding this year at all.
It needs to get it's roots going into the new soil.
I hope you used a mix with mostly JI compost.

Will bone meal make much difference on root growth. Is the compost mix overly important?

Well I assume you intend the plant to stay in this pot for a few years.
If so you are better off using a soil based compost as opposed to multipurpose.
It has longer staying power and doesn't degrade in the same way multipurpose does.

As I said earlier, I don't think pouring fetilisers on it at this stage will do any good.
