Got them going off again tonight. It's setting off all the dogs in the area ( but unusually, not mine). I've never enjoyed fireworks, even as a child and wish there were more controls in place. Came back today to find rockets in the front garden. The dog will become more upset and I can't believe the prices for consumer fireworks. Your thoughts?

If i were a rich man i`d like to go to one of our local super markets selling fireworks where i would buy up their entire stock, take it outside and let them all off right outside their front door .

Lets see how they like having their peace and privacy being disrupted. ?

Yep, ban them, its nothing like it used to be, just a few sparklers and bangers for a penny or two.

It now goes on from god knows when till after the new year, lots of places sell them all year.

They get let off at all times of the day and night around here for months, mostly by people that aint got two ha pennies to rub together.;)

I wouldn't mind if it was just the one night, per year ok, Two including New Year but it's a constant bombardment. Ho hum!

They are annoying and the cat doesn't like them so I'm keeping the windows closed. I agree it would be better if it was kept to a few days a year but they will be going off here from mid October through til New Year. No doubt there will be Halloween parties tomorrow which will be nearly as loud as November 5th. I leave the big cupboard on the landing open a little bit and the cat goes in there to avoid the racket.

My dog has been on tranquilisers for 2 weeks, she gets so stressed I was very frightened for her last year.
Sods law, our local paper shop is in severe financial straits, no stock in shop barely, day to day basis really, I think they couldn`t afford either the licence or the stock outlay, no fireworks stocked, have only had 2 instances of fireworks this year so far, tomorrow several halloween parties in local pubs, so expect fireworks. :sofa:

Our wee man is being driven nuts by them tonight - he gets really stressed out by them. I love to see them, but they have no place in a domestic setting, and should be kept to only two or three nights a year by law.

Agreed! Another night and it's coming from all directions. The dog is going mad. I've got him inside with a citronella collar on which stops him barking in the car. The poor thing can't stand the noise and is going into one. Walking him later will be a snarling nightmare. We was really enjoying ourselves out here earlier in the garden with the rugby on the ipad and the log burner going. Now it's just a mass of bangs all over the place GRRR!

Allegedly Adaptil is very good, however it is also very expensive (about £17 a shot) and sadly we have not had the cash available to get any in time.

I really feel for all of you who's pets hate the noise created by fireworks, we are lucky with our little fella because he doesn't seem to mind loud noises. We do not suffer too much with fireworks on the build up to bonfire night but we have a hotel on the outskirts of the village and they put on a firework display every time someone gets married and has a reception there. This means that we have a firework display almost every Saturday night, the upside of that is it only lasts about 10 minutes, the down side is that in the summer they don't start until I have been in bed for 20 minutes!
What I cannot understand is why something that gives a fabulous display of colour in the night sky has to have such a loud bang or series of bangs with it.

We only see/hear fireworks in our neighborhood on Victoria day or Canada Day. Toronto, I think, also have a municipal display at New Years. I agree that ad nauseum would be nasty.

I hate to say it but it is probably the fault of a Yorkshire man that we have to suffer fireworks in this country. If Guy Fawkes had done a proper job we wouldn't have to celebrate with them, come to think of it we may not have had George Osborne either

Ooh that's a thought, a firework up g osbournes way would make me giggle all day. However he doesn't have to encounter the scum we have to.
Believe me, it really is a nice area but we have so much hardship, that guy wouldn't know where to start, I'd love to make him spend a night in the worst area, he could have a local flat, the leccy key, and the Tv if it was on pay as you go.
Oops it runs out as you're cleaning the kids, no leccy, cold kids, no heating.
No heating , blooming cold on a morning, especially if your in a crap rented place, oh and no food!
Thankfully this isn't me but it's soooooo ,many people around here are in this situation, rant over and I feel so much better, thanks all xxx
(If this should be somewhere else please move it x kinda got on a rant, hope you all don't mind xx

And back on subject! He he. It's all quiet here now. After laying a floor since last post, back in the garden with a well deserved beer and the sound of my fountain and not much else. Aww, heaven.

I wonder in what other context I could walk into a shop and ask to buy a selection of incendiary devices and explosive projectile devices.
