Yesterday (Sunday) I was working at removing some buried rusty wires when ping one sprang back and straight down the ear canal. instant tintinnabulation, vertigo and nausea. Sat down and was relieved to discover no blood, it gone down and straight out again. Took me an hour to crawl the 50yds to the house and ring for an ambulance. Evening in casualty. kicked out 11.00pm to find a taxi, diagnosed with a pierced ear drum that should heal over the next few months.

Ouch! That sounds dreadful, and you must feel relieved that the damage was not any worse. Hope you heal fast. :nerd:

I wouldn't recommend it, but I do realise I had a very lucky escape.

So sorry Nigel. Not such a fast healing process either. Truly horrible mate.

My sympathies, Nigel. I had several near misses during the pro years, the worst being a holly leaf in the eye. Luckily, the contact lens took the brunt! Hope everything heals well :grphg: and no lasting ill effects...

Nasty. Hopefully it will heal quickly with no lasting side effects.
I reckon almost every gardener could tell tales of accidents like that. I know I have had a few, more or less serious.

Oh Dear! I'm pleased it wasn't more serious but it's a horrible thing to happen. I wish you better quickly.
