This looks interesting and I think it might be remnants from a perennial I had out front years ago. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Could it be one of the Cinquefoil Potentilla family? Or Geranium maculatum Cranesbill family?

@CanadianLori I think the best thing to do is take a closer photo just about framing the entire plant and a good close-up of the leaves, but this time not in strong sunshine as I think it's making the plant harder to see.

Nah, give the poor thing a chance to flower, could be something amazing! :)

My roots showed up today and one of them was destined for the very spot where this stranger was residing. So I dug him out and will put him in a pot to await his reveal!

Ooh, I like the frog. He would fit well with my metal garden art.

What were the roots like on your mystery plant, @CanadianLori ? Tap-rooted? Fibrous? That will give a clue as to which plant family it belongs to :)

I had to read this twice. When my roots show up I get a pack of Nice&Easy medium blonde and get it sorted. :heehee:

                      Anyways, Harry is lovely!

I've already put it in a pot else I would take a pic but the best description I can come up with is, skinny roots forming dreadlocks and flaring out of control at the edges.
