I put this in the fridge back in November as just a freshly collected acorn.. Got out the old small bulb glass & popped it in the fridge..

It started to sprout a root within 3 weeks.. I left it in the fridge until it showed signs of a green shoot.. About another 4 weeks..

That was 3 weeks ago.. That shoot has grown to this already.. :hapydancsmil:

Will you let it grow in your garden or Bonsai it? Lovely little thing. :)

Thanks "M" & Lea, I thought I would Bonsai this one as I have several Bonsai trees I have grown already.. I also have some acorns outside in pots collected at the same time & all have tap roots down.. Those ones I am going to grow on for my S in L as he wants some for his woodland area up at the farm..

Isn't it a miracle - what Mother nature gets up to - even in your fridge. I'm glad you are growing more oaks for your S I L Sheal. One of our finest trees,
              Jenny
