Fruit trees ID needed!

    Hi all,

    Found 2 small trees/hedgerows near me with 2 different colour fruits on. I think they look like plums and smell like them but they're no where near big enough - help please!

    I think they are certainly of the Plum family, possibly Damson Merryweather and an unknown golden Plum or Gage.:thumbsup:

    Jamie, I think the dark fruit is a damson. We have a number of them in fruit around here at the moment.

    Perhaps the best way to make sure is to look at the tree if they are Sloes (from a Blackthorn tree/hedge) then the tree will have a lot of thorns and a Damson tree won't :thumb:

    Sorry.....this is referring to the dark fruit...:thumbsup:
