Here's a review from someone of Rogue Double Dead Guy Ale. :) :)

"750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Moderate gusher upon opening. Pours hazy deep orange copper colour with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big raisin, pear, apple, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit, nuttiness, herbal, floral, light pepper, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, pear, apple, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit, nuttiness, light pepper, floral, herbal, and toasted earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, pear, apple, caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, biscuit, nuttiness, light pepper, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/toasty malt and fruity yeast ester flavours; with big robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice strong ale. All around good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/bready/nutty malt and fruity yeast flavours; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering."

      The monument in this photo...

...is dedicated to the man that was responsible for many of the beers on that chart. I'm willing to bet not many will be able to give his name without Googling.

I'm partial to English Ales on the top left and also the Belgium Ales. Can't say I've heard of some of those names and I'd avoid drinking some of the sillier named ones as they are obviously marketed at the younger generation.

I don't consider any Lager worthy of the name 'beer' - I don't mind a refreshing ice cold Lager on a hot day but they are all pretty tasteless to me.

I like Indian Pale Ales and a good British bitter - normally from established brewers . I find the modern "crafted" beers not to my taste . And the current "blonde" beers taste like flat lager with a drop of lime in it !
I must admit to being a lager lout though  I do like a pint of Carling at 4% . For the premium lagers ,San Miquel and Kronenbourg do it for me :blue thumb:

Without Googling , the Carlsberg owner was a business man and philanthropist - I think . Did he develop the Pilsner technique

      I'm a lager drinker I'm afraid.
No I'm not afraid, tend to think most of that trendy ale stuff tastes like burnt toffee.

Years ago it was Double Diamond or John Courage, now I tend to go for something like Staropramen, Peroni, I like the Pilsner taste.
I also like Innes and Gunn, but its not the kind of stuff you can drink all evening.

As a general rule I usually buy whatever premium lager happens to be on offer, only in bottles, can't stand cans.

Not the owner of Carlsberg, of of his scientists called Emil Christian Hansen. He is credited (in Denmark!) with isolating the yeast Saccharomyces carlsbergensis from which lager is brewed today.
