These are not pristine, and are in need of a refurb to make them perfect - however, this is a golden opportunity to change the colour of the powder coating if you wish.

They came off my XJ8 4.2 V8 Sovereign (X358) with a view to them being refurbished and used with another set of wheels in alternation as summer/winter wheels - sadly, my health did not keep up with the XJ8 and we parted ways, leaving me with this set of wheels.

They are fitted with tyres, at least two of which have a fair bit of 'meat' on them, and whilst on the car I had no issues with them at all - - however, please treat this as being the sale of wheels only and make your own decisions as to whether you want to use the tyres or not

    Growlers are included

We can if you wish - where to, sir?

Believe it or not, these have been sold to a lovely guy who is going to put them on a Volvo.

Not as posh as You FC, but I do have 2 classic cars, a 1973 Triumph 2000 mk 2 in 1970's brown, and a 1966 Pontiac GTO in red, love them to bits even though they are not the most reliable.

I would frown, but being 50, those Volvo's are comfy.

Cor, I would love a shot in both - but believe it or not, the Triumph would probably be my pick of those two; I always had a soft spot for Triumphs - 2000, Dolomite Sprint, GT6... I'd have had a GT6 MK2 if I could've afforded one too.

Having said not as posh, your two outvalue mine easily. Reliability wise, you don't mind so much when they are pensioners and have a lot of character in them.

Love them both, changed the stromburgs for SU carbs, put waterless coolant in, and it still shifts, she will still do north of a 100, the perfomance is not quite as good as the Pontiac, but not too far off, got a stainless exhaust as well, but everything else is stock, people keep telling me to respray it, refurbish the wood in the interior, but I like her as she is, surprisingly no rust to the underside, but I did buy her from an old chap that had her from new, and garaged her, and loved her. As do I, find yourself in the Bristol Bath area, give me a call, you can take her out.

I will take you up on that one day - and of course, there would be runs in the Jag included as standard :)

If she doesn't need a refurb, better to keep the character in my book. I am one of those who would rather see a bit of life and wear in a car until it reaches the point where you have to restore it and then when you do it has to be done right. I did think about the waterless stuff (Evans?) for the XJ when I first got it, but then discovered they were prone to clogging heater matrixes and knackering auxiliary flow pumps as well as splitting joints on the expansion tanks - - sounded too risky to me, so I kept it on standard stuff.

The Pontiac is a very different beast, quick in a straight line love the noise it makes, especially going through Cheddar Gorge, had some resto, but a respray of the original colour, and new floor pans, and an engine rebuild, if this way, you can take it down the gorge, and feel the noise:yay:

Ironically, I was down your way at the Gorge only a matter of weeks ago.... I would love to hear that baby roar. I believe the handling on the American cars is not up to par with the likes of the Triumph though? I'd imagine it could be a handful if you got silly with it.
