With the world record Pumpkin getting bigger and bigger, is anyone here growing a giant this year?

    Current world record 1,725 Pounds

I've bought some seeds from Marshalls of the variety that grows these monsters (Dills atlantic giant) to grow some for fun value, I wonder if anyone else is growing one of these giants? When my seeds have germinated I'll take them down to the allotment and "challenge" some fellow plot holders to a "grow off".

    Steve...:)

I'm currently growing a pumpkin (Jack o Lantern), but more for the curiousity of it all than for a giant pumpkin. I'm almost certain I don't have room since I only have plant pots to keep it in (yes I do know how large the plants can get), but hey ho, I planted it anyway.:lollol:It's what happens when you keep me on my own for a while and I have a battle against boredom. I have visions of Little Shop of Horrors only with a pumpkin.

The first one (I called it Big Daddy) died before germinating, so I planted two in its place. Today one (now named "Troublemaker") has sprouted. I wish I had an allotment.
