I bought a ginger root from a supermarket and it has a very pale green shoot emerging. I've planted the whole piece in a pot and have it indoors.

Now what do I do with it? :D

Enjoy a nice ginger plant? :D I have three pieces that are doing very well, about 15cm tall now. Good luck with yours! [IMG]

As you probably know they aren't hardy so keep it indoors over winter. Keep it fairly dry but in a light warm place. I have trouble overwintering them but I get worried and overwater! also my house is not very warm.
Here's an American site which giveslots of good advice:

Mine have never flowered, but now I've got the green house I have hopes!
