Solved Given this, is it some sort of herb, Dill?

    Not sure what this is, given to me so I could identify it, failed:).
    I think Dill is an annual? This does not look like annual as it has a woody stem. It is also sending up small new shoots. It has quite a strong oily smell if you crush the leaves, not to my liking. I know I don’t like the taste of Dill but never seen an actual plant.
    If it is Dill would anybody like it:)? Many thanks in advance.

    If it smells of aniseed it's Fennel, otherwise Dill.

      There is no fennel bulb so must be Dill. Don’t like fennel even if it was so looks like this is going on the compost! Thanks Scrungee.
