No room for a Greenhouse; tried a blow-away in my previous garden (had two! So successful was I ... that they *both* blew away :dbgrtmb: ) and now, inspired by @Jenny namaste I've bought myself this:

As an experiment, I've planted some Tumbling Toms this morning in those 10 compartment seed tray "windowsil" propagators using those pellets which swell in water. I've placed one tray into the Grow House and the other has been put on the bathroom shelf. I'm going to compare successes in starting the seeds.

But, any advice on how I can maximise this growing space to its full potential?
Is it the right place to sow/start seeds?
Or, should it just be using for seedlings which have been potted on?

Any hints and tips will be much appreciated, thank you.

I built myself one of these in my old house as it was cheaper than buying new. Mine was about 6 ft at highest point. I set mine on sleepers for more height. I started some seeds and potted on and then grew toms in it later on with good success.

Depends what you want to sow. Leafy salad stuff like rocket, spinach and lettuce will do OK in there from seed. The more tender things will need starting indoors first I think.

Put a max/min thermometer in there to monitor temps, you'll be surprised how hot it can get very quickly. Be prepared to leave the doors open during the day for most of the time from now onwards.

Good point! I did wonder if I should put one in; now I *know* I should. Thank you

Hadn't thought of growing toms beyond the seed stage; thank you, I shall try that

As JWK said I did leave the doors partially open due to how hot it got.

                Looks good.
                Very nice.

May put something like this up myself.
