This might be useful for people in the South East and are at a loose end tomorrow.

I was dragged along to this expo today by my mother who is looking to retire at 50.

As well amusing myself observing ladies* of a certain age snatching up all the complimentary chocolates and pens they could fit into a carrier bag- there was also a Gardeners Question Time which was brilliant.

The panel was: Roddy Llewellyn, Edwina Robarts who is a NGS county organiser somewhere, and a gorgeous curly blonde girl called Jules Claridge.
What fun! I got in questions about my squashes, chickens and wormeries.

    Roddy is also getting chickens!

I came out of the session in time to see my lovely mum parting with £150 for a back massager.

There are another couple of GQT sessions tomorrow if anyone fancies it.

*I honestly didnt see any men indulging in this behaviour! They obviously dont appreciate quality freebies!

Roddy was very smiley, gently charming and told painfully bad jokes, the sort you'd disown your granddad for. As I said previously I got to ask a few questions and he was awfully kind and found time to come and say hello.

My mother told me some rather colourful things about about him afterwards, which surprisingly neither his website nor his wiki page elaborate on!

More importantly, his own garden transformation (click his website) is rather spectacular.

Seems like an interesting show to go to if you don't mind paying for it. :old: :hehe:

What I did find amusing was the poll they ran (on the internet) on their home page. It was about the use of the internet and 1% said they never use the internet  :dh: :rotfl:

    :D

My main role on the day- apart from carrying shopping bags- seemed to be on hand to provide assistance when at various Mediterranean cruise stand my mother would turn around and ask what her 'email number' was.

There were some outrageous exhibitors there amongst the financial advisors, retirement properties and activity holidays- 'natural endings' burial plots (where I assume they tip you onto a compost heap) plus assorted crippling ailments and diseases were represented.

Goodness me, who turns up at a fun trade show to find out about incontinence? Presumably you'd already know if you had it!

:rotfl::rotfl: Nope Not Roddy don't you worry... :rotfl: I actually used to think he was a bit of a creep in the "Margaret days",,!!! :hehe: He since seems to have found a respectable niche now though.. :dh: Surprise..!! :D Sadly Melinda I think these sort of shows are tailor made to rip you off there..!
I think, take names, cards & web addresses & google when home.. Just take them all for a ride when there, as they do the innocent punter...!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i.e. Mr & Mrs OAP in this case..!!!! Sounds a good thing you went & I am sure they amused you somewhere along the line too.... :D
