At our caravan we have a very fertile lawn. The grass grow rapidly, especially at this time of year. As our visits are sometimes infrequent, the grass can get a little high. Is there any safe water on additive that can reduce growth? I know that GreenThumb offer a SlowMow treatment, is anything like this available to Joe public?
    TIA

Another approach would be to scatter some yellow rattle seeds there. This is used in lush grass areas to slow down the grass growth rate to allow wild flowers to flourish. Yellow rattle is semi-parasitic, gaining some of its nutrients by attaching to the grass roots, thus weakening the grass....

HarryS they are known as growth regulators. The only one that springs to mind is Primo Maxx 2 which is sadly not for domestic use. The price is expensive too.
There was a fertiliser one that claimed to cut down on cuts, I can’t think of its name now plus I don’t know if it’s still available. Not sure it even worked to be honest.
There was Clipless too but I’ve a feeling it’s been removed and again was for pro use.
A lot of growth regulators have been removed, use to be able to buy a hedge based one years back too.

Thanks Sian and Liz, the hedge growth retarder was the one I was thinking of. It must have been over 30 years ago when I knew someone who used it.

I seem to remember something called "cutlass", but I think that was for hedges.

Looks like I will need to keep my mower blades sharp and resign myself to an eternity of mowing  Just seems at this time of year you never seem to stop !

Thanks mainly to the EU, many growing aids have been removed from the market. However growth regulators are used extensively in the nursery world, so that when buying plants, they all have to bethe same height and have flower buds. Only for the commercial industry.
