My Tomato Plants are growing quite tall on my windowsill so would it be okay if I moved them now to my greenhouse and maybe fleece them up at night time. I'm in Newcastle.

I work on the basis that they must have minimum temperature of 10C, below that they will sulk (if not die). If they sulk they then make the assumption that they might get another cold snap, and they should not attempt to stop sulking for "quite some time", so there is no magic un-sulk such as warmer temperature.

Do you have an option to put in greenhouse during the day, to give them the best light, and then "in" for the night?

I'd go for it, this year has been so cold its unbelievable.
Keep the greenhouse as warm as you can during the day and hope it will hold some overnighr warmth.
There is a discussion going on in the tomato growing thread that you might like to have a look at.

I have some pretty tiny seedlings that are doing just that - sulking. Not going to be a good garden year I fear.

I put mine in the greenhouse last week and they haven't died yet. We are due a very cold night tonight so if it's the same up north I would wait a day.

I'm more pessimistic on that than I used to be ... I bought a bucket of temperature sensors off eBay; apparently they travel with, e.g., a carton of vaccines and are used to measure temperature to make sure that it stayed within limits during delivery. Not quite sure why it isn't economical to send them back for another trip, but ones that do "single-trip and sold" seem to come up on eBaynow and again. I had to buy the cradle to read them, but that wasn't dear. (Logging is not as good as something realtime which would alert me to having forgotten to open / close the vents, but its all I have got for now)

Purple line is a 12x10 aluminium glasshouse, with no bubblewrap etc. It was closed up early (and temperature climbed to 34C for a bit). By 10PM the internal is down to only 1C above external [light blue line], and from midnight onwards it is matching external.

By contrast my big greenhouse (much much bigger volume of air) [green line] stays about 3C above external (assuming a sunny day the day before)

However, insulation / fleece etc. should improve on that.

I still think the duration of the dip in temperature is quite important and makes a difference.

One side of my greenhouse is 10mm twin wall polycarbonate.
I think this does actually give a small measure of insulation.

However cold its been outside in the last 30 yrs or so that side has never frozen with a heater just keeping the greenhouse frost free.
The glass side regularly freezes on the inside on cold nights.
