Hi I have a raised bed in the garden and thought ooh that would be great for growing lettuce in. I might be to late for sowing lettuce but what types are best to grow.:)

For me Little Gem in early spring then Saladdin, Lakeland or Webs Wonderful for summer.....I keep coming back to Webs Wonderful because it is so good greenfingerskev :)
I dislike the red lettuces....look good in the veg patch but lack real taste I think

Good time for sowing to overwinter lettuce, Mizuna would be my first choice, that even survives under snow, but it's sometimes hard to find a packet on it's own, you might need to look for it in mixed salad seeds.

Lamb's lettuce is good, although technically it's a Valerian.

Lollo Rosso doesn't do too bad over winter too :)

As far as I know lettuce doesn't germinate if the temperatures are too high.

So you should be OK with the weather as it is at the moment.
    Just watch out for slugs.
