    Hi All,

I am a complete noob when it comes to growing. I am having a little problem with my Carrots and Potatoes. Can you have a little look at the pic and if anyone can advise do my potatoes look ok (the bigger ones anyway!). The plant was starting to die so I dug them up.

With the carrots they have been like this for a couple of weeks but should I leave the rest longer? The weather hasn't been as good so im thinking it could be that.

Just pretend the cucumbers aren't there... they are the runt of the crop, the rest are going fine (and ever had my first one 2 weeks ago... be £20 cucumber ever!! lol)

Thanks for any help in advance!

Welcome to GC! :) I'm the same, I'm not the best grower! My carrots never really made it to anything carrot-like...

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

Your potatoes look good to me. Were they an early variety? If so then it's normal for the foliage to die down now.

You can eat carrots much smaller than that, so no harm in starting. The longer you leave them the bigger they get until the first frosts. So there is time for some bigger ones yet.

I think they were, but that is good thank you for the help. Might try them later now. The missus binned the carrots so I wont even get a chance but I will leave the others under in that case.

Thank you again John for you help!

the idea with carrots is you take out every alternate one, gives the others chance to grow bigger
