Well, what kind of flowers are affected?
I'm not as much of an expert as others on here but if it were happening in my garden I would cut off the eaten flower heads and put down slug pellets.... and keep my fingers crossed:)

I don't know what this miracle grow is, sounds like some kind of chemical fertilizer. BE aware that these things alone do NOT feed a plant, they are rather stimulants. It's a bit like trying to live on coffee without ever eating a real meal. The ground must be enriched with organic matter and true substantial nourishmnent like manure and hoof and bone meal added. The chemical fertilizer is just to be used as an additional boost. To much of it may even hinder the growth.

All the above is a general consideration, I don't exclude there may be other problems.

Vivienne, I would say it`s earwigs, keel slugs or snails. I would say, smear the stems with Vaseline, that should do the trick.
