Purchased a box of Westland Growmore from our local Sainsburys , only to find that its was not Growmore in the box !

Seems it some kind of grass seed evenly mixed in with some various sized mini round pellets.

Not sure what exactly it is, anyone recognise it ?

I bought a bucket of that, its not like growmore used to look, its pinkish and not white, but I'm assuming it is what it says on the bucket.
Colours may vary in the pictures as I took them with flash.

Yes @pete its similar granules like yours but a deep orange / iron colour, but with the seeds throughout.

Now spotted on the back of the box some small and very feint dot matrix production printing mentioning Festcua and Lolium, clearly its some grass seeds, but even if its some kind of patch /repair product the amount of seeds seems very low ??

One for the bin me thinks, though will look to buy some more but from a different source, just that Sainsburys had it in store for just £3 -perhaps thats why !

Just used Growmore this morning, it is Westland and the browny colour, no grass seeds though.

                Hi,

Just taken it back but all they did was give a refund as no more in stock.
They say they will pass the error on, but with some many returns each day, bet it just goes in their waste bin.

Would have use it ourselves if we knew what it was and how to apply it to the lawn, but did not want to risk burning it.

True, Growmore always used to look more whitish grey in the past and came in a round granular form. Picture below is the Growmore we used to sell in the past, it was very clean with hardly any dust. growmore2-500x500.jpg
