The rattle of the letter box this morning brought with it the usual collection of bills and junk mail, but also a lovely jiffy bag containing a collection of Habalokia seeds along with a freshly picked Habalokia pod for me to sample straight away. Awesome.
I guess either tonight or tomorrow morning will see them hitting the propagator with the others. Already got a selection of Cascabel and Bhut Jolokia through ready to move to the lightbox.

I've got new flowers on my Peter Peppers, only on the sunny sides of the plants though.

Time ago my cousin came to visit me and while we were in Cambridge he saw a chilli stall at the local market .....he asked for the strong chilli souce they had , almost challenging them and the guy pulled out a ghost chilli souce .....I did told how hot it was , but for some reason didn`t not belived me or the guy and belived that in Italy are hotter.....as soon as my cousin had a spoon of souce the guy simply told me:

you can stand here and watch him die or run to the shop and buy a pint of milk ...

it was too funny i regret every minutes that didn`t film it :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

Although I like hot chillies, they are pointless without flavour. I would rather use a few flavoursome ones than one superhot (don't get me wrong some superhots are wonderfully tasty). The trick is to get the balance right, if you use the correct combination of chillies, you can get the level of heat you want with the flavour to make it worth while. This is particularly important, I find, when mixing dried chillies to make a power, or using them with dried products such as onions, lemon, lime, garlic and tomato to make a rub for steaks and joints etc.
As for the taste buds, Capsaicin (C18H27NO3), although it can cause hallucination does no long lasting harm ... unlike smoking and drinking  . So bring on the chillies!
