Hard/Soft Neck Garlic: difference please?

    Bought two varieties of garlic bulb yesterday, 1x Early Purple White (Softneck) and 1x Carcassonne White (Hardneck).

    Please could someone enlighten me what the difference is? :dunno:

      Sorry, I actually don't have a clue, but it's been a hard day, and I had to have a laugh!

          Thank you @"M" . Don't feel too sorry for me, it wasn't that bad, it was just the first day back after a really lovely 12 days off!

            No help what so ever but here it goes.. I read one is more prone to bolt (the flower spikes are good in stir frys- tried and tested!) and one is hardier than the other or better suited to grow in colder climates. Pretty sure it's the hardneck.. also, again think it's hardneck, they have a hard stalk in the middle.. I assume from the the flower spike.
