Beautiful Mira I have been trying to grow Plumeria for a couple of years now not managed to get them to flower yet the secret is to have them out in lots of sun they didn't achieve that this year hoping for better results next year.

At the moment I have my plumeria (the one and only) at my parents place in Italy and apparently is doing fine. I will see if I can post a picture of it. I' m not good with pictures, as it is now clear, because I don't have a proper camera and nothing to take pictures of!

Ah plumerias, I've been messing around with these for years, and only managed to get flowers once, a long time ago.
I think heat and sunshine is the answer but as you say walnut, we didn't get much this year.
Your should do well in Italy mira.
Mine are now plagued with the usual RSM.

Are you growing seed or purchased plants of known flowering potential, mira, walnut.

They are beautiful, mira. I've never attempted them. Why am I thinking the last photo is a Hibiscus?

Same here Pete, I did get the yellow/ white one to flower in the Palm House here years ago but likewise in the end RSM got a hold and they were composted.
Miraflores, is 'your' one in Italy outside all the time?
The nearest to the UK that I have seen them growing outside was in Cyprus last year, Never been to the Algarve (yet), perhaps LoL should go on a Plumeria hunt and let us know. [IMG]

pete, a while ago I bought yet another Hibiscus which is silly because they do not do well with me. This one is creamy white with a red throat ... absolutely beautiful. We are trying to find where to put it because it is exquisite.

strongy, my sweet, they still are not good on naming things here ... very frustrating ... which is why I'm working with my friend who owns an exotic garden centre here trying to identify everything and even more difficult, every week when everything blooms. I don't sit idle here. [IMG]

I did wonder Mira as I know it can get quite cold in Italy in winter
I found an ebay site selling Frangipannis, at least 30 varieties but they were from Thailand , still it was nice to drool over them. [IMG]

    Lovely photos Mira [IMG] [IMG]

On the Hawaiian islands the Plumeria flowers are used to show the status of the women. If they wear the flower on the right side of the head it means that they are available and if they wear it on the left it shows that they are already courting/engaged/married. It makes life so much easier :D
