Cables have to be replaced with a new one they can't be bodged up. Relatively straight forward to replace .

Okay, do you know what cable I would need please? How easy of a job is it to do as I’ve never done it.

Look online for the parts list and see what's on eBay

Hayter are good in that all their spare parts are readily available. You should be able to find parts diagrams online to assess if it's a DIY job. What's the model and age?

It’s a Hayter Harrier 48 Pro. Model number is 496F as the sticker that was on the one I have is no longer on it. I did ask the previous owner and he said that it’s a 496F. I also don’t know how old it is unfortunately.

          This looks like the cable:

          CABLE ENGINE BRAKE

I’m struggling to find a parts diagram.

Maybe you don't need a parts diagram if it's obvious how it fits.

Are you sure thats the right cable ? Engine break cable will be the safety one the handle you hold in all the time .

It’s the front handle. The rear handle is the deadman’s handle, that’s got the drive and roller, that cable is okay, as I can move the roller freely.

Ok just checking you mentioned you snapped the drive cable on the first comment , didn't want you buying the wrong part.

I wasn’t sure, hence why I put some pictures up. So I could order the correct cable.

Easier way is pop in to your local Hayter dealership and they will soon supply a new if you are not sure.
