Thanks for accepting and welcoming me to your forum. I am Piotr. I am a chef, I am 35 and live in Edinburgh and I have never done any gardening, so be patient with me haha. I have this little bit of communal garden behind our flats building and I ve been here for many years and nobody has ever done anything to it. I decided I'll try and take upon myself the task of starting something nice there. I have no idea where to start, but hopefully with your help I can make it work :) I dont have very high expectations, I'll be happy if I can do anything to make it look half decent :) I'll look for an appropriate place to post the pictures and first set of questions haha. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum! One of the nicest ways to start gardening is to have an herb garden. It doesn't take a lot of space so lots of room left for flowers or other vegetables too. But herbs give you a quick culinary reward and you being a chef, will quickly fall in love with playing in the dirt!
