    Hi folks,

Just developed my first set of green fingers buying a property with a rather large garden... I've just realised how much work is involved and its all down to me (and some help from my better half). Looking forward though.

The garden needs a lot of work - trees growing through each other, bushes growing sideways. Hence, I'm currently cutting down trees and clearing out old stuff.

Also, I kicked off a compost heap at the end of last autumn. Looking forward to using the results of that in the near future.

Signed up here to ask for advice, as its the first time I've had to look after a garden.

    Regards,
    Ijonas.

[IMG] Ijonas... A first real big garden is a responsability but I am sure you will both soon be enjoying it & the fruits of your labours.. Takes a while to know what we want when going from a small to a large garden, so looking forward to seeing you around the forums..

Hi, welcome to Gardeners Corner. It's sounds like a big job you've got on your hands. Just take it steady and enjoy what you're doing instead of trying to do everything at once and turning it into a chore!!!

Hi & welcome to the best Gardening Forum in the known Universe.

First thing I would do would be to get a stout broom & hoik the Bears out of the Den. It would make the garden safer.
