Hello from Brighton to all friendly gardeners

    I came across your group whilst searching for planting advice and it seems a good one. Although the word 'gardener' appears in my job title that isn't quite true! Being in the outdoors is something I love though. On the South Downs we rather lack for trees and it was very satisfying a couple of years ago to plant a native hedgerow at the residential centre where I work with plugs donated by the Woodland Trust; it's doing well. I live on an urban hilltop where until 100 years ago a windmill stood. Chalky and of course windy! Nice views though.
