    Hi all,

Just joined the forum. The new house we have moved into has a 120' x 50' garden with well established trees, bushes and plants. May need some advice somewhere down the line!
    :spinning:

Looking forward to using this forum.

    Lee.

Hi Lee, welcome to Gardeners Corner and congratulations on becoming a member of the GC Gang:love30::thumbsup:. Well, we have plenty of experienced gardeners who will be more than willing to pass on any advice you need. Sounds like a good garden, but if we're going to be able to get an idea of the garden can you tell us which direction it faces i.e: North, South, East or West. What kind of soil the garden has, Loamy?, Sandy?, Clay?, Stoney?...........and a couple of pics would be great!!:heehee::coffee:

When we got the house it had been vacant for over 12 months (owner had died and left the property to charity). The grass and weeds were big enough to get lost in and the borders were indistinguishable from the lawn, etc. It was in a pretty bad state. We have managed to get the grass back to Green again, although I know that where the grass had been left so long it folded over on itself leaving dead areas. It has around 10 trees (ranging from Pear and Maple to different Conifer species), a small pond (filled with mud and flowers??) and a sunken water Garden, which turns into a pond when it rains. Clay soil (London Clay).
