    Greetings from North Tyneside.

My wife and I moved into our home last year August and now finally have time to turn attention to the garden. It's my wife's first time living in a property with a garden. It's a west-facing one and I'm not sure what the soil quality is like. I don't think it will be particularly good as it is on a recentish (2012) development and based on prior experience (with a previous property) I found all kinds of oddities buried in the soil, left behind when the construction was finished, I guess.

We've been growing some plants indoors and are keen to expand that to our garden. For the moment, we're planning to grow some spring onions and radishes in" troughs" outside. I've started reading about "pest control" and thought this forum would be a great way to learn, for a gardening newbie like myself.

Hi Ryhow, welcome to Gardeners Corner:love30::thumbsup:

Slowly, over the years, as you grow and add stuff onto the garden soil it will improve. You'll also find that using different plant feeds will help the garden plants a lot.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
