I've recently bought a house with a small garden (back and front) in Kilmarnock. It's central Scotland so the weather isn't too bad although we get lots of rain. I was in South West Wales before so well used to that!

Not sure of the type of soil so far. The only plants growing there at present are honeysuckles, a small heather and hydrangea. I have lots of plans and ideas and hoping to get some good advice here!

I'm retired so have plenty of time. I have had to do a huge amount of weeding and digging over, as the previous people had no interest, and had the surrounding rotten fence replaced. I've bought and put in some of my favourite plants already but I shall be asking for help with a hedge at the front that I want to plant, plus other things.

Best wishes to all members
    Jane

Hi Jane and a very big :sign0016:to Gardeners Corner - ask away when you are ready - between all the members there is a lot of hands on gardening knowledge here (better than the gardening books). Enjoy!
