I was first enthused with gardening by my Grandad who was born in 1871 so some of the things I do aren't the most up to date. My land is a south facing slope, sandy acid and it particularly likes to grow bracken and brambles.

Thank you for your replies. I must admit that I am having a great deal of difficulty understanding this site. The problem is that my eyesight is extremely poor and I just cannot find my way around. It all looks very interesting though. I shall persevere.

      hello and welcome.

      You can adjust the
Brightness on the screen and the size of the words, do you know how to do it?

Thank you miraflores for your reply. Yes, I have to do those for other sites too, it is just the layout of the site that I find very confusing I find it quite different to many others.

      Welcome to GC :dbgrtmb:

You can also simplify it more by reading the first post in this thread.

      http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/threads/thread-list-preview-changes.114484/

Altering the 'preview' option in 'preferences' (hover your cursor over your name at the top of the page, to the right hand side, and you will get a drop down that will show 'preferences') and it will remove all the bits under each title of thread and will then not be so confusing to the eye.

Thank you Martin-f for that I have changed display to 2013 which seems clearer. As a Yorkshireman I was pretty miffed that the only language available is US.

In a forum, really, those who set up the language are the members and whatever they post.

As far as Google results are concerned if you take time to explore the settings you may find the different nuances of the English language...US UK Australian etc
