Hi, thought I'd sign up to this great forum. I've been hovering about and decided to take the plunge.

A little bit about me: I'm Mark and live in Northumberland. I've a bit more time on my hands now that I've gone part time and I promised myself to get stuck in to the garden a bit more.

A bit about my garden: My back gardens small (about 36 x 18 ft) and the front is tiny, some of the back is a small drive, a patio, various conifers and loads of pots. I'm particularly keen on japanese maples and can't resist picking up a different variety from the garden centres when the opportunity arises.

I've always had a fascination for oriental gardens and bonsai (which is one of my many interests!). I'm also thinking about having a big change in the garden by making it much more of a Japanese style garden, rather than just having several plants from the far east.

Anyway, I think I'm babbling on a bit. I hope to use this forum for obtaining great advice, hopefully I'll be able to contribute something along the way.

    Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark, and welcome to the Forum. - This is the place to be, lots of sage (no pun intended) advice from gardeners who really know their onions, not to mention maples, bonzai, and, well really everything.

I'm sure you will benefit from the wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm here.

Hello Mark and welcome to the forum :) I like the Japanese garden style too - it looks fairly easy to do, although I'd be tempted to stuff too many plants in and spoil the effect.
