Hello from Warrington

I’ve just got a potting shed, new to all of this I’m hoping to grow tomatoes and plants for my hanging baskets and pots. All helpful tips appreciated!

 

Welcome @Sizzy6 Are you planning to grow from seed ? Youre looking at around March next year to start sowing tomato seeds unless you have a heated propagator when you can start sowing in Feb.

Have a look at the varieties of tomatoes that you plan on growing. Bear in mind that one packet of seeds turns into a seed tray of seedlings which turn into half a bench full of plants - you can soon be over-run and out of space. Same goes for hanging basket plants.

It’s changed drastically over the last few years!

 

I've heard that...the last time I was there, Ikea wasnt, there was a fire station opposite the Sportsmans - I believe both are not there now . and the place to go was the Lion in Bridge Street. Before your time?

 

I don’t know where the Sportsman’s was or a fire station - sorry. I live about 10 mins from IKEA, very close to the old American Air Base, I used to work there in recruitment, it’s now been demolished and a new village called Chapelford is in its place, there is an association called friends of Burtonwood that does a lot to keep its memory alive. As a local I can still pick out small areas that are unchanged but these are few and far between.

 

Do you by any chance mean in CPO? You'll know what I mean if you did! Used to know a girl who worked in there!
