    Hi everyone I’m Carly.
I need some help regarding planting around an ornamental cherry tree that will go in the centre on a rockery on my front garden. The tree is a dwarf one so won’t grow massive but from doing some reading about planting trees in raised areas I’ve tried to reduce the amount of soil inside the rocks. Ive removed two large bushes and still need to make sure all the roots are out. I’ve also researched how to plant a tree as has no idea! ☺️

I have quite a lot of flowers in my back and front garden already but tend to favour low maintenance ones that come back every year.

I would like to add some colour around the outside of the rockery but again have no idea what to go for. I don’t want to risk damaging the new tree so they really need to be compatible with being close to a tree. Again, I would like whatever goes in to stay there and return yearly. I did some research and a few things were suggested such as periwinkle, snow drops, but I’m keen to get some real advice from real people and would be thankful for any wisdom. I’ve currently left the bits of green along the back and left as they are quite pretty purple flowers when they bloom but whether that’s a good idea or not I don’t know.
    Thank you in advance!

      Hiya Carly and welcome :)
How about geranium Rozanne? 3 plants will fill that area nicely :) Flowers all summer long....purple blue flowers
To spread the colour you can plant a variety of bulbs there too.....daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, lilies:)

          Welcome to GC :dbgrtmb:

There are many plants you can use but see whether you can plant things that bloom at different times of year. I would be inclined to avoid periwinkle as it spreads and will swamp all the others.
