Hi, I’m new to Gardner’s corner and a very inexperienced Gardner. Hoping you can help me identify this tree/plant. I’m hoping it’s not dead as there are some shoots of green if you look hard enough. I’d love to give it a new lease of life but unsure how. Can anyone help?!

I think we need a better picture, a close up maybe.
    Could be a clematis.

Not really, its the same as the first one, any close ups of new growth etc.

It actually looks like some of the main stems have been cut through.

The green shoots are so few and far between I’m fearing the worst.

Looks like a dead Clematis, but the 3rd pic above may be Honeysuckle leaves.

Not so sure, there are signs of new growth, but Silver surfer might be better than me at I D ing them.
But the new growth does seem to be dying.

Is there anything I can do to revive, or is the only option to remove the whole thing?

Last pic definitely shows a climbing Honeysuckle...Lonicera.
As long as the root is OK it should regrow...they are pretty bomb proof.
It needed a bit of a hair cut!

Ok thank you. Going to give it a good feed, a haircut and hope for the best.

Just to add there are green shoots of life right at the very top. Have given the roots a bit of a clean up and some feed.
