Hi I am new to this forum looking for help. We have cleared a large raised bed area.It has some rhododendrons in the front which give a bit of colour. But l need help to plant out the rest. It is shady with a little sun at the front. Looking for low maintenance with some colour.

Hiya @white lodge welcome to the forum. I'm sorry I'm a novice to gardening so to speak, so not going to be any help with what you are wanting, but there are lots of really knowledgeable people on here who will be able to.

Hi @white lodge welcome! If it is not too dry, then hostas with a wide range of leaf shape, edges etc and lovely purple or white flowers, or heuchera which have some amazing leaf colours.
Cyclamen would do very well in that they leaf and flower when most trees are bare.

Agree with Carolinel, but would add, Rogersia, ferns, and in the dappled areas, maybe some Astrantia, along with Thalactrim and Epimedium.
