I'm looking for Choisya Dewittiana Goldfingers 'Limo'.

I found it on the RHS Plant site but it's out of stock and a few other nurseries want to charge me a fortune to deliver to the Highlands. In one case almost £50, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I want a plant in a three to five litre pot and the only place I've come across is Thompson and Morgan, but knowing their bad track record with plants I'm fighting shy of ordering from them. I don't at this point know how much they would charge delivery either.

Can anyone help me with this please?

What about this place? About half the price of T&M, tho a little smaller. I don't know how much the P&P will cost you as it wouldn't estimate it for me without your postcode! :wallbanging: If it were me and the P&P wasn't too bad (say under or around a fiver) I would take a punt on Jacksons or just go with T&M. Personally I have never had a problem with the latter over the years but I may have just been lucky. :dunno: The most I have ever paid for a choisya is around £12 for a 2L plant, so T&M's price seems quite high to me!

Buy Choisya Goldfingers (Mexican Orange Blossom) in the UK

I have this Choyisa it not a particular fast grower rather slow really , looking on RHS plant finder quite a few nursery say they stock which I've dealing with in the past but yes postage is expensive even for me. I bought mine from the Garden centre ( 3L pots ) and I am sure they got more so if you're struggling I can pick one up and send up to you. I'll not be going GC till at least feb

Thanks @Nikolaos but I won't use Jacksons. They are the ones that wanted nearly £50 for delivery. I don't mind paying a bit more for the plant as long as the postage isn't extortionate.

Thank you too @Perki, and for your kind offer. I hadn't read that it was a slow grower, that's now making me think twice. I want something that grows at a normal pace so perhaps I need to look for something else. I chose this shrub because it grows taller than it's spread.

Just a thought, but is that likely to be hardy enough up there @Sheal ?

The information on the few nursery sites that have it say it's hardy @pete. I have to take their word for it. I'll have a look for something else, according to Perki it's a slow grower and I could be pushing up daisies by the time it reaches maturity. :heehee: There's also the issue of finding and buying one.

Well going off mine its not fast so far , it is in part shade and had a fight with a Crocosmia lucifer , I've only had it a couple of years it may shoot off this year :noidea:. If you're after something up right maybe something like a Yew aurea david - Sambuscus sutherland gold - euonymus japonica aurea - berberis golden rocket or just the normal choyisa sundance but that more round shape

Thanks again Perki. :blue thumb: I had Choisya Sundance in my last garden and would like it again but I think it's spread will be too much for the area I have in mind.

I'm looking for something evergreen with light foliage and white flowers.

Can't think of many with light evergreen foliage but for abelia kalideiscope or privet aurea. More to pick from with non evergreen plants

Not to worry Perki, thanks. I'll scout the internet again and see what I can come up with. I looked at Abelia but don't think it would survive here. The privet is the same colouring as a holly I have growing a few feet away.

Watch this space....I'll find something eventually. :)

Sheal, just a thought because of the colour ... how about a Lemon Lime Nandina? I would love one but it is too hot here.

Thanks Victoria, I looked at those but they're not fully hardy I'm afraid.

Thank you all for your help :dbgrtmb: but I've bitten the bullet today and ordered Choisya Sundance. It's mature height and spread is a little more than I wanted but I've given it some thought and will alter the layout of the border/bed that surrounds it. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I hated leaving the one I had at my last house behind. I'd fought to keep it alive after a bad snowstorm there and became very attached to it. It's certainly a hardy shrub. :)
