    Hi all

As you can see we have a row of gabions. We have tried loads of flowers up there but they keep dying on us.

There is some soil but we live quite exposed in the country and the wind and rain break most flowers even small daffodils

The best two things we have so far are roses that are growing nicely up through the hedge and nasturtiums that are spreading quite nicely.

We need ideas for something that will be hardy and with nice bright flowers and some way of keeping the weeds down.

    Thanks

Vinca minor, Aubretia, Stachys lanata? All tough, wind-resistant and good at draping :-)

Hardy geraniums spread well on a slope for me and keep the weeds down.

      Hi John,

For a good Spring display how about Aubrieta and Alyssum Saxatile planted to spread along the top and to cascade down them.

You could also add Aquilegia, Geraniums and summer flowering annuals to extend the season.
