Heron on chimney

    A heron was on a neighbours' chimney this morning. Hubby said that it was there several days ago, too, no doubt in the hope of seeing something to eat in our pond.

    Pictures taken through the window and the mosquito net, so rather greyish.

    Yes me to , always miss them.
    We have a lot by us with us living by Sutton park nature reserve they fly into our gardens looking for easy picking out of the ponds.
    I have lost a few fish over the years but now net it in the winter and have a water shooter in the summer. LOL.
    They are lovely birds shame they are such a nuisance to the fish keepers.

    Yes they are lovely birds, there is a nature reserve in Trentham Gardens where loads of them nest in the trees in fact they have called it Heron Island well worth a visit if you are in the area

    Well, he was out of luck if he wanted a fish dinner out of our pond, he, or one of his relatives, ate the last fish quite some years ago. We gave up buying new ones in the end.

    Now I am just afraid that he might be after the newts. Cute things and we just love them.
