bought a house and realised the garden was previously expertly maintained.. gulp.. hope I can keep up.

Had a sea of decking for the last 15 years in previous house. Not a blade of grass in sight..

Welcome Chris, it will help if we know roughly where you live when asking questions, the town or the county is all that's needed to give us a clue to your weather and even maybe the type of soil. For example I live in NE Scotland near the sea, so we all will know I have sandy soil and have a cool dry climate(most of the time) and quite harsh winters.

:sign0016: Chris, don`t do too much, kick back and enjoy this glorious few days of summer, I also echo please put your general location, local climates vary so much, if as you say the garden was really well looked after, there will be loads of things you can`t see, daffodils, tulips, snowdrops etc, all lying dormant waiting for the unwary to dig up and cut in half,:hate-shocked:enjoy it this year take loads of photographs as the seasons progress as a visual diary,
