    Hi,

I'm in the South Wales Valleys, with a garden that might well make it into the competition for steepest garden for its size in the UK (although around here there's lots of challengers!).

My main reason for seeking out a gardening forum has been to get some advice about growing achimenes. I've wanted to try growing them again for a while (my grandparents gave me a rhizome about 35 years ago).

So... I just bought a rhizome on eBay, but I'm looking at their growing habits and I don't know whether to plant it now when it arrives, with a view to letting it take advantage of what's left of the growing season, or just put it straight in vermiculite until the spring.

    Thanks :bigthumb: .
