Came on to this forum when I saw a post about Coleus suppliers and Horn's Garden Centre was mentioned.
I have used them off and on for many years but unfortunately they no longer do mail order.
Anyway as some of you may have guessed from my name (bootneck) I am an ex marine.
My horticultural interests cover many things but I no longer exhibit which I used to do mainly Sweetpeas, Daffodils and veg also Dahlias Chrysanthemums and Fuchsias. Thus I was showing at the spring, summer and autumn shows.
Now retired my time is taken up with my garden here in South Wales when its not raining which it does a lot here.
Will try an pop in from time to time.

                  Welcome bootneck .

Funnily enough I've just been watching a TV prog on Youtube about RM training - it was originally broadcast on the BBC I think. Have to say, it does take a partricularly strong person to go through that training. You have my admiration.

I trained at Lympstone in spring 1998,
                    115 troop.
The training was tough but well organised.
I'll never forget the first floor canteen.. Great food and as much as you wanted.
However i don't deserve any admiration because i took the 'opt out' option half way through lol.
I didn't like the particular guys that trained us, so it was an easy decision to leave.
Full respect to you bootneck, it takes a strong bloke to succeed with the RM.

Shame you decided to opt out as I can honestly say it was the best ten years of my life. Yes the training was and still is hard graft but then life begins. Travel the world for free with some great mates.
Seen many of the plants in foreign places for real instead of reading books. You learn to go that extra mile and it comes in handy when doing the gutty jobs in the garden. I started my own garden maintenance company but got so many referrals I had to turn down work and eventually age and arthritis took its toll but still cope despite everything.
My glass is always half full being the eternal optimist that I am.

Have seen comment from other members looking to grow Chrysants but little info around these days, so sure you could help out there with advice on the best types to get started with.
Think they are a bit like Dahlias, about ready to make a big comeback,.
