High/gale force winds have been blowing here all day today, whenever this happens I feel very restless, does anyone else feel like this?

Can anyone on GC explain why this is please? :)

I sort of know what you mean Sheal.
I always seem to feel wide awake and have more energy in very windy weather.
Many people I know say they hate windy weather, but I love the sound of the wind roaring through the trees and the leaves swirling around all over the place, it seems to create an air of excitement and exhilaration.
As to why this should be, no idea really. Our distant ancestors lived in the trees so perhaps it's an evolutionary defence mechanism to make sure they didn't fall out too often!

Unlike you Trunky I hate the wind and the sound it creates. I find I can't put my mind to anything when it's blowing, which is probably why I feel so restless. I'd rather it would rain. :)

Strangely we are experiencing the same thing here at the moment and the wind is gusting fiercely around the house ... we live in the orchards so it is slightly weird. Sometimes it sounds like things are being torn and ripped away but they are not .. 'nesta momento' as they say here .. at this moment in time! However, heavy raiin and storms are due which we expect and do not complain about .. especially having had a summer of five months with only three independant days of rain since the first of May.

Things could be worse ... :love30:

Well, we've not been suffering with high winds today, Sheal, just the opposite in fact. I must admit if I'm out in high winds I do feel very alert and livened up.:D

I also dislike gales but it's because i live on an exposed hillside and it causes damage every year, the sound of the wind at the windows and doors is a sound that makes me think of structural damage that can be done to the house and garden.
Every year a plant is uprooted.

I can't explain it. However, a teacher once told me that he dreaded windy weather because it inevitably meant that the children's behaviour was atrocious.

I was once told that horses, and a lot of other animals, hate the wind (my 2 cats certainly do) - it makes them nervy.
