      Hi all
I'm new here and would definitely describe myself as a novice gardener. Having bought this house last year I suddenly have an urge for a beautiful garden teaming with life. I look forward to your advice

@Upsydaisy I totally agree. I did nothing when I moved in last year and was pleasantly surprised at all the lovely things coming up.
I got 6 baby fruit trees for Christmas last year and that was it, I was hooked! I lost one tree but somehow gained two more to replace it! Since then, I find myself planting whatever I can and checking on them all the time.
I live in County Durham, North East

Hi everyone, i've been searching the net for tropical plants/trees for our soon to be new garden, in N, Lincs, I then searched forums for where best to buy mature tropical plants and trees but didn't have much luck, then i stumbled upon this forum.

My partner and i are moving house. We would like to create a tropical style jungle theme in our back garden.

I'm a novice gardener, our current garden is split level and the length of a football pitch. It has way too many plants, shrubs and trees, but the neighbours have neglected their gardens and the upkeep has become too much.

The new garden is flat and approx 7 or 8m x 40m in 3 sections, patio, gravel for seating and lawn leading to a large shed at the end of the garden (There is another in better condition) this will be coming down and a bar will replace this. The idea is to create a jungle walkway to the bar, a pergola in the middle section and whisky barrels and hanging basket's on the patio. Some plants/trees will be going into the ground permanently some brought in over the coldest spells.

Welcome to the forum @Tye !

Sounds like a lovely plan. I am not one of the many on here who grow tropical plants. And I'm guessing that will be obvious because of my location. Everything would have to come inside between November and May!

I don't know where the N. Lincs is but anywhere over there, you're bound to have great success with your plans :)
