A couple of months ago, the wife's sister gave us a hand getting rid of some clutter. She wanted to take it further, wanting to rearrange the furniture. I said no. We actually don't have much furniture, by choice, and what we have is arranged how we like it.

She's fallen out with us over it. It's so trivial it's almost funny.

Tell her you'll let her re arrange yours, as long as you can put it back afterwards, and that you want to re arrange hers as long as you can bolt it to the floor and bash the heads of the bolts so they don't undo :)

It's not to her as she want to rearrange your furniture

She'd have a head fit if she would try to rearrange our furniture

A falling out about not being allowed to rearrange your furniture? Is she sane?

Anything else in her life or sources of stress. It just sounds so odd.

If it is that important to her, (but trivial to you) I would have let her do it ... simply put it back after she'd gone! Definitely not worth falling out over. Although, possibly, it might be how you declined her offer? :dunno: ;) :heehee::heehee:

Anyone messes with my bits and bobs, without my consent, and I'll have them arrested! :snooty:

I wasn't even there. I was at work. Wife phoned me. I told her I didn't really want anyone to move the furniture, partly because I like it how it is, but partly because one cabinet is extremely heavy and houses all manner of cables, being the TV etc cabinet, and another is even heavier as it contains all my tools, many of which are sharp, and I didn't want her messing with them while kids were about. How is have them is safe. I wanted to keep it so.

Christmas is coming, fold your card to her inside out and write your message upside down on the new front.

Hopefully, being an adult she will see the funny side of that and hence the whole situation.

                        Steve...:)
