How to grow asparagus

    I have always wanted to grow asparagus and once bought dome crowns which were not cheap and nothing came of them.About six weeks ago when I was in the garden center they had trays of small asparagus six to a tray for £2.40 so I bought two trays and planted them in a spare raised bed.They now seem to growing extra stalks and seem more bushy is this normal and what do I need to do especially during the winter.
